About

Let the soft animal of your body love what it loves.

“Wild Geese” by Mary Oliver

My name is Chelsea and I have long been book-obsessed! At a young age, this manifested as a desire to sit on the top of the monkey bars to read – much to the chagrin of my more active classmates. As an adult, I do slightly better to choose my reading locations appropriately – but only slightly! When not creatively occupied, I’ve got a pretty strong love for yoga, my kid, and any and all forms of crafty fiber arts! I am both a reader and writer of fanfiction, a moderate consumer of professional hockey and KU basketball, and it’s been said that I’ve got an unnatural affection for high levels of angst in my media.

I believe our lives are made of stories, which is why when I’m not busy reading science fiction, fantasy, young adult, romance, and short fiction of any genre, I’m writing in any and all of the above categories! You can find various examples of my writing here!

After graduating in 2012 with a BA in English and Creative Writing from the University of Kansas, I went on to pursue my Masters of Library Science in 2015 and have used a great number of those skills to provide freelance editing and writing feedback services to authors both new and old throughout the creative process. From sensitivity reading to manuscript overviews, big picture and close-edit line work, I would love the chance to work closely with you to bring out the best in your manuscript! Please see the Services page for details and testimonials.

Insights into what I’m currently reading, reviewing, loving, and linking are available on the blog, and of course never be hesitate to reach out and get in touch with me – there are a myriad of ways, all listed on the contact page.
